Wow! It’s been a long time!
No, wait. It’s been a ridiculously long time!
However, I’m now devoting a significant amount of my free time to getting a ton of new stuff ready, so hang in there. Exciting things are coming soon! We decided not to move, so at the moment, we’re still settled in good old Austin, Texas, and I’m making the time to put together some fresh stuff.
Here’s a quick little jam I threw together the other night to tide you over…
Stay tuned!

Hello, i’m ultra glad that you will provide us somme coll new stuff. I’m very impatient =)
See you
Hi Jonathon, it’s so good to hear from you! I’m looking forward to seeing the new stuff. Congratulations for this last slow funk piano improvisation, it’s impressive as usual.
Wish you and your family all the best!
greetings from Italy
So good to see you again! So tasty to hear you again! WOW!
I’m the happiest french of the moment^^.
By the way, thank you for putting the sheet of groove in g online. I made an arrangement of it with my saxophonist partner. I’m not able to tell you when I’ll can record it (because no one of us have an approximately adequate recorder), but I’m sure that you’ll love it! You can contact me on youtube or on Skyblog: my pseudo is Jazz-damage for both.^^
Wish you good luck for the new stuff!
regards
Guillaume [or William in English =)]
Hey Jonathon! you’re a very talented pianist! unique piano-playing style!
I love your videos, really cool grooves
Do you Know Rodney Franklin? i’m sure you’ll like his music, 80’s funky pianist
keep posting videos! you rock!
Jonathan,
Love your videos !. When i first seen them on youtube (how to play a funk groove) i noticed it was hard to find the order in which they were to be followed.
Anyways, i used to run darkcognitive.com, which i featured your videos on. This site however is now changing to How2Play.org, which is a similar music lessons site.
I have a few questions to ask you, i couldn’t find your e-mail address anywhere so could you please e-mail me at:
chrisdark@darkcognitive.com
Regards,
Chris Dark.
Ps. Keep up the good work, your video tuts are some of the best ive seen for jazz/funk piano!
Not a long time left before the chistmas gifts, woohoo !
Hi Jonathon. love your piano funk teaching, I hope that new material is not to far away.
I just can’t wait no more…

Hi Jonathan,
Thanks so much for your piano lesson videos!
You’re a legend!
And loved your funk playing, would be cool to hear more of your stuff.
I have a request… Could you create some left hand stuff to accompany the licks for blues (and funk)?
I guess it would be a walking bass line, like the backing track?
Thanks again.
Andrew
(UK)
Hello andrew, why not use a standard and easy bassline like C E G Bb, F A C Eb and so on… ?
You could also use the bassline used in the background music of the 30 blues licks, but much harder i think =)
I have forgot a A in the first bassline, and a D ^^
So : C E G A Bb, F A C D Eb =)
Hey Jonathon! Nice to see you again!
